Difference between government pleader and public prosecutor:
Government pleader:
- Pleader acting under the directions of Government.
- The public proecutor was appointed by court.
- The Government Pleader is characterised in Section 2(7).
- In the Code of Civil Procedure that contains any officer assigned by the State Government to undertake all or even most of the processes explicitly enforced by Code of Civil Procedure onto the Government Pleader as well as any Pleader under the requirements of the Government.
Public prosecutor:
- Prosecutor is to help the 'court in finding the facts of the case'.
- A public prosecutor is appointed by the State Government in every district.
- Once the Police investigates and submits the accusations to the court, the role of the Public Prosecutor starts.
- He serves the interests of the State and prosecutes the Government for that purpose. The Public Prosecutor does not engage in the police investigation.
