Gram Sabha-It is a place where all plans for the work of the Gram Panchayat are placed before the people. Gram Sabha prevents the panchayats from doing wrong things like misusing money on favouring certain people.
It plays an important role in keeping an eye on the elected representatives.
The construction and maintenance of water sources, road,drainage, school building and other common sources.
Levying and collection of local taxes.
Executing Governmental schemes related to generation of employment in the village.
Gram Panchayat-The Gram Panchayat looks after administration and development at village level. It is an elected body with a sarpanch as its head. The members are elected by the Gram Sabha which comprises all adult members of the village.
The Panchayat Samiti is the body at block or taluka level. It is the link between the gram panchayat and district administration.
The Zilla Parishad is the local government body for rural administration at the district level. It is the uppermost layer of the Panchayati Raj system.

1. Gram Sabha consists of all the adult ( above 18) members of a village ( or a cluster of villages). Whereas, the Gram Panchayat is a small body whose members are elected.
2. The term of Gram Panchayat is usually 5 years, whereas Gram Sabha is a permanent body and not subject to dissolution.
3. Gram panchayat is a sort of executive organ of Gram Sabha. The Gram Sabha monitors and evaluates the work of Gram Panchayat.
