The term Graphics is used for any illustrations, design, images created etc.
If if it is done using a computer it can be called computer graphics.
Which can include single images (Stills) to series of images which gives the illution of movement. A poster design created using computer is also a computer graphics.
The visual contents done for a web page,dvd,tv screen navigation images,apps, video games, tv channel, architecture walkthroughs and stills etc are all computer graphics
Animation is a series of images drawn or created on computer which gives an illusion of movement. This can be created on paper hand drawn and painted without the use of a computer , using puppets and clay models, also using softwares on a computer, phone and tabs.
All Animations need not be computer graphics and All computer graphics need not be animation.
Off late people refer to the term computer graphics for any animation done and integrated into the live action videos (shot with real actors,camera and sets ) as Computer Graphics.
Ex : Iron man, Junglebook (the latest one), Bahubali etc
And 100 % animated movies as Animation.
Ex: The Incredibles , Coco, kubo and the two strings
