The colors of the spectrum produced by a diffraction grating are in reverse order to those of a prism. The order being colors observed as the angle in which these bands of light deviate from where the "straight through" white light would be. The angle of 'refraction' increases with wavelength, while the angle of light bands produced by 'diffraction' increases with decreasing wavelength
