gulley erosion - removal of large amount of soil from huge cannels called gullys when water gushes down through these channels.

sheet erosion - removalof top soil from extensive areas in the absence of vegetation.

In gully erosion ,water cuts through clayey soil and makes deep channels called gullies,
In sheet eroison , water flows as a sheet over large areas and washes away topmost layer of soil.
