Habitat is the natural home of an animal, plant, or other organism. A good habitat meets all the environmental conditions an organism needs to survive.

Severe droughts, floods, severe heat and all other climate changes from greenhouse gas emissions threaten many habitats.

My habitat is my home with my wife and eight dogs that live with us and make every day better. When Hercules (a spicy Chihuahua mix) got sick, we were all sad. When Molly (a wonderful American Eskimo, Husky, Lab, Rottweiler mix) fell over the bluff and the firefighters helped her come up from a ledge, we were worried sick. Molly did not have a scratch!

An ecosystem is made up of living organisms and nonliving components such as air, water and mineral soil.

Ecosystems can be as large as a lake or as small as a potted cactus.

If you have a salt water aquarium, you need to know the type fish, food, oxygen, temperature and cleaning necessary to keep everyone healthy. Aquariums are fun, but the care and maintenance are time consuming and expensive. This is an example of an artificial ecosystem, one that you created.
