"highest commom factor ( HCF) of two numbers is the largest number that divides evenly into both number.in other words the HCF is largest of all common factors."
"lowest common multiple (LCM)is the smallest number that is common multiple of two or more numbers."
example for HCF:-
if u take 8&12....their commom factors are 2and 4 ..... but the greater number is 4 so 4 is the HCF.
example for LCM:-
if you take 2&10 the common multiples are 10,20,30,40,...etc.but since the least of them is 10.... so 10 is the LCM.
