Answer:

Heat is energy transferred between substances or systems due to a temperature difference between them, according to Energy Education. As a form of energy, heat is conserved, i.e., it cannot be created or destroyed. It can, however, be transferred from one place to another.

Heat is a form of energy.Energy have many forms like kinetic energy, potential energy, work in mechanics and internal energy and heat ….in thermodynamics.

If we talk about thermodynamics

The internal energy of a matter is the sum of the kinetic energy (Rotational +translational) of molecules . It has some temperature and the temperature of gas changes if and only if the internal energy of gas changes.

The energy absorbed or release by the matter is heat energy.

So the heat energy is the energy which is responsible for the change of temperature of body which is absorbing or releasing.

Other forms of energy are not responsible for increase in temperature like mechanical energy increases or decreases the velocity of a block (any object) but mechanical energy can convert to heat energy so can increase the temperature of body.
