Difference between heterogeneous mixture and homogeneous mixture

homogeneous mixture is a mixture in which the substances are distributed uniformly

eg-sugar in water

heterogeneous mixture is a mixture in which the substances are not distributed uniformly

eg-sand in water

Another example of heterogeneous mixture is air(the elements are unevenly distributed).
