Explanation:

Difference between Hexan-2-one Hexan-3-one is that the position of Ketone group (-CO-) in Hexan-2-one is at 2nd number C and position of Ketone group (-CO-) in Hexan-3-one is at 3rd number carbon.

Note :-

Molecular formula and molecular mass of Hexan-2-one and Hexan-3-one remains same.

There is difference in the position of Ketone group (-CO-) which make these two compounds different.
