himalayan rivers are wet all over the time as they receive water from mountains whereas peninsular rivers get dry in summers.

HIMALAYAN RIVERS
1) They are perennial in nature and get water from the snow melted and from heavy rain.
2) They perform erosional activity on the upper course.
3) They have long river courses.
4) They carry large amount of silt and sand.
5) The Ganga,the Indus,the Brahmaputra are the major rivers in this region.
PERENNIAL RIVERS
1) They are seasonal in nature and get water from rainfall only.
2) They don't performs erosional activity on the upper course.
3) They shorter river course than the Himalayan rivers.

5) The Narmada,the Tapi,the Mahanadi,the Kaveri,the Krishna and the Godavari are the major rivers in this region.
