1) A homogeneous mixture has a uniform composition throughout its mass whereas a heterogeneous mixture has a non- uniform composition.

2) A homogeneous mixture does not contain physically distinct parts whereas a heterogeneous mixture contains physically distinct parts.

3) Homogeneous mixtures form solutions whereas heterogeneous mixtures form colloids or suspensions.

4) A mixture of alcohol and water is homogeneous whereas a mixture of sodium chloride and sand is heterogeneous.

2. There is no clear boundary of separation between it's components.

3. The components cannot be seen by naked eyes.

4. example: alcohol in water, sugar in water, salt in water etc

Heterogeneous:

1. Its components are not mixed uniformly throughout.

2. There are visible boundaries of separation between it's components.

3. The components can be seen with naked eyes.

4. example: sand in soil, etc
