The homogeneous mixture is a mixture where all the molecules are uniformly distributed whereas the molecules are not uniformly distributed in heterogeneous mixture.

uniform composition for example salt in water sugar in water, etc.
a mixture in which different constituents are mixed uniformly is called a homogeneous mixture.

non uniform composition for example iron fillings and sulphur sugar and sands,etc.
a mixture in which different constituents are not mixed uniformly is called a heterogeneous mixture.
