Major difference between homologous and heterologous genes are:-

Homologouses contain the same genes in the same loci.

Heterologous chromosomes are chromosomes present on different loci which cannot undergo genetic recombination.

◆ Difference between Homozygous and heterozygous -

• Homozygous gene has two identical alleles while heterozygous gene has different alleles.
• Homozygous gene produce same type of gametes while heterozygous gene forms different gametes.
• Homozygous gene doesnt show extra vigour while heterozygous gene show extra vigour.
• Homozygous gene can be either homozygous dominant or homozygous recessive. Heterozygous gene can be complete dominance, incomplete dominance and co-dominance.
• Homozygous example - YY, yy. Heterozygous example - Yy.
