A hunter-gatherer society is a nomadic society in which most or all food is obtained from wild plants and animals, in contrast to agricultural societies, which rely mainly on domesticated species. ... Nomads were people who moved in search of food, while hunter-gatherers got food by gathering wild food sources and hunting.

The main difference between the hunter-gatherers and the food producers was that the hunter-gatherers were the nomads whereas, the food producers were the settled community. The hunting-gathering community lived during the paleolithic age while the food-producing community lived in the Neolithic age. One major difference between these community was of the tools they used. Early hunter-gatherers used the chopping and cutting tools made of stone or wood. Whereas, the Neolithic men used tools such as blades of obsidian and flint etc.
