The main differences between hypotonic and hypertonic solutions are:

Hypotonic solution: This solution has higher water concentration, than the cell. Therefore, the water will move from the solution to the cell and thus the cells gets swelled. This process is due to exosmosis. It has less solute concentration.

Hypertonic solution: is a  solution that has lower water concentration than the cell. Thus water moves from the cell  to the solution. Due to this the cell becomes shrinked or plasmolysed. It has more solute conentration.
