In-situ conservation:--

1)it is the process of protecting the endangered species of plant or animal in the natural habitat, either by protecting or cleaning up the habitat itself or by defending the species from predators.

2) it helps in recovering population in the surrounding where they have developed their distinctive features.e.g., national parks, biosphere reserve, wildlife sanctuaries.

Ex-situ conservation:--

1) it is the process of protecting the endangered species of plant or animal by removing them from the unsafe or threatened habitat and placing under the care of humans .

2) it helps in recovering population or preventing their extinction under simulated condition that closely resemble their natural habitat.e.g, botanical gardens, zoos, arboreta, seed and pollen banks, gene Bank ,etc.
