formula is a type of equation.Equation means equality. They are both related to the word equal. If such an equality is true for all values of the variable, it is called an identity, e.g., sin 2 ⁡ x + cos 2 ⁡ x = 1 is true for all .

The equation which is applied on mostly questions which give suitable and correct (exact)ans are called formula.....
On other sides phys formula dont always give exact ans but nearly equal value is considered as correct...

The equations which is applicable for all variable are called identities....
