Difference between Indian farms and US farms:_
1) Majority of the work force in US agricultural sector are immigrants and seasonal workers while in India, the work force mostly comprises of farm labourers and marginal farmers.
2) US farms are machine intensive. It help the farmers of USA to control and monitor the water, pesticides using sensors. Tractor automation is also implemented. While in India, farming is labour intensive. Machines like tractors, thrashers etc are used but the percentage is very low.
3) In USA, farming is done for commercial purposes and most of the farm produce is exported. While in India, subsistence farming is done. The quantity of farm produce is used by the family of farmers and if surplus production is there, then it is sold in the market.
4) IN USA only 3 % of the total population is engaged in dependent on farming. While in India around 60 % of the total population is dependent on farming.
5) In USA, most farms are irrigated with the help of modern irrigation techniques. While in India, farms are totally dependent on monsoon rains.
