Difference between Indus river system and Ganga river system:-

  • Indus river system is located in Jammu and kashmir, himachal pradesh and punjab.
  • It flows over 2900 kms in length and includes sutluj, beas, ravi, chenab and jhelum.
  • The highland separates the Indus river system from Ganga river system and it flow from north west to south-west.
  • It has fertile land and a dence network of canals for irrigation.

Ganga river system:

  • Ganga river system is located in Haryana, rajasthan, uttar pradesh, M.P, bihar and west bengal.
  • It flows over 1900 kms in lenght. It includes yamuna, gomati, ghaghara, gandak, kosi, chambal betwa, ken and son.
  • It spreads from ambala in the north-wet to sundarban in the east.
  • Except in the upper portion irrigation facilities are comparatively less owing to high amount of rainfall.
