All objects continue its state of rest or of uniform motionalong a straight line unless it is acted upon by an external force. This tendency of objects to continue its state of rest or to keep moving with the same velocity is called inertia.

INERTIA OF MOTION
if any body is in motion it tends to be in motion unless an exterior force is applied to stop it.

INERTIA OF DIRECTION
if any body is in moving state in one direction then it tends to be motion in that direction unless it an exterior force is applied to move it.
