Ultrasonic waves are acoustic waves that are so high in frequency that humans can’t hear them; however, infrasonic waves are sound waves that are lower in frequency than what humans can hear. A subsonic wave is a wave that is traveling slower than the speed of sound and a supersonic waves travels faster. By definition, a sound wave travels at the speed of sound which varies depending on the medium through which it’s traveling.

Ultrasonic waves:
★ These are sound waves with frequency greater than 20 kHz. Human ear cannot detect these waves.
★ Waves produced by bats is the best example for Ultrasonic waves.
