Insolation , the amount of solar radiation received on the earth is called Insolation. It is produced in the form of short waves as electromagnetic radiation. It does not heat up the atmosphere.

Terrestrial radiation, most of the short waves produced b isolation are reflected from the earth. this causes in the heating up of the atmosphere as its source begins from the ground the lower parts are affected more. Thus with the increase in hight the decrease in temperature is caused

here is your answer

●Insolation : the earth is extremely small compared to the sun and is 150 million km away from it and receives only one in two billion parts of the total radiation of the sun. The amount of solar energy received by the earth is called insolation.
the amount of insolation received by earth's surface varies not only from one place to another but also with time of the year.

WHEREAS

●Terrestrial radiation : at night the absorbed heat by earth's surface is radiated out into the atmosphere in the form of long waves . and this is called terrestrial radiation.Atmosphere is a good absorber of long wave radiation it absorbs thirty four units of the total fifty one units of terrestrial emitted by the earth. the remaining seventeen units escape in the outer space.

hope it helps you
