Internal Indicators:

Internal indicators are those in which one of the reactants acts as an indicator.

Example:

KMnO4 acts as an internal indicator in the titration.

External Indicator:

External indicators are those which are added from outside that is they do not exist in the reaction.

Example:

Phenolphthalein, Methyl orange etc
