The few noticeable points on difference between inter phase chromatin and mitotic chromosomes are :-

  • Chromatin is the main component in DNA, RNA and Protein in the cells which is found during the inter phase between Mitosis and Meiosis whereas Chromosomes are transformations of Chromatin mainly transformed during the phase1 of Mitosis.
  • Chromosomes are solid in structure and only appear during Mitosis and during the inter phase between Mitosis and Meiosis these Chromosomes breakdown into Chromatin.
  • The histones are prominent in chromatin as compared to Chromosomes.

The differences between inter-phase chromatin and mitotic chromosomes are:

  • The chromatin consists of DNA, RNA and other proteins which are found in cells during the interphase between mitosis and meiosis. Chromosomes are formed from chromatin during mitosis.
  • Chromosomes are solid structures that appear only during mitosis and interphase between mitosis and meiosis whereas chromatin is always present in the cells.
  • Chromatin contains a high content of histones which are proteins. The histones are less prominent in the chromosomes .
