ion means a particle that has already given an electron or received an electron and became in a state that it will neither give or recieve one.but radical is always unstable.

a radical is a molecule or atom that has at least one unpaired electron (one electron is in an orbit by itself )but this molecule or atom does not carry a charge like an ion because the number orbiting electron still matches the number it is very reactive
