Ionic bonds are formed by transfer of electrons.
Covalent bonds are formed by sharing of electrons.
Ionic compounds have high melting and boiling points.
Covalent compunds have low melting and boiling points.
Ionic bonds are stronger than covalent bonds.
Covalent bond ex. CH3COOH
Ionic bond ex.NaCl

Bonds that are formed by the transfer of electrons in which ions are formed are called ionic bonds.
Eg. HCl
Bonds that are formed by sharing electrons in which no charged particles are formed are called covalent bonds.
Eg. Compounds formed by carbon like ethanol methanol etc.
