★ ISOTOPES :

  • The elements with the same number of protons in nucleus is known as isotopes.
  • Two isotopes of the same element have different atomic weight.
  • Example : Carbon 12 to carbon 13.

★ ISOBAR :

  • The atoms with the same number of nucleons is known as Isobars.
  • Isobars of the different chemical elements have same mass number.
  • Example : Potassium and calcium have atoms of the same mass number 40.
  • Uses : It is used in medical treatments and for manufacturing medicines.
