Some of the points to distinguish isotopes from isobars are as follow

Isotopes:—

1- They are atoms of same elements.

2-They occupy same position in the periodic table.

3- They have same chemical properties.

4- Properties related to the mass number are different.

5- They have same atomic number but different mass number.

Isobars:—-

1- They are atoms of different elements.

2- They occupy different position in periodic table.

3- They have different chmical properties.

4- Properties related to the mass number are same.

5- They have same mass number but different atomic number.

Gauravmj: isotops: common electronic sequence while different molecular weight
