-Filtration through natural process.
-Works more efficiently.
-Removal is continuous.
-Also produces hormones like renin, ANF, hematopoietin etc.
-both active and passive process involved, hence rapid
-filtration and reabsorption both occur.
-proper urination occurs.


Artificial kidney. It is basically dialysis machine.
-filteration through artificial methods.
-works less efficiently.
-removal is discontinuous. Only when hooked to the machine.
-doesnot produce any hormone.
-only passive process involved. Hence slow.
-only filtration and no reabsorption.
-little or no urination.
