Kinetic Energy is when Energy is used to perform actions. For example: A person riding a bicycle uphill.

Potential Energy is where foreign energy is present, but another energy is preventing it. This makes Potential Energy at higher places more that of a lower place. For example: A bicycle on the top of the hill.
