Static friction is the frictionexperienced by a body at rest. Limiting friction is an amount of force which is required to be applied to just overcome the friction, for forces larger thanlimiting friction the body is set into motion.

when there is a tendency of relative motion between two object keeping object is in rest,the friction force is called static friction..
whenever,the maximum value of static friction that can be applied by any object is called limiting friction......
