Heya friend,
Matter is something which has space and has some mass. Matter can be classified into three types-
•Solid
•Liquid
•Gases
These three states of matter has some differences in them in physical and chemical appearances.
The differences are given below-
•Intermolecular spaces
-In Solids the intermolecular spaces are very less because of strong force of cohesion between the molecules. liquids have comparatively larger intermolecular spaces as the force of cohesion is less between liquid molecules and gases has the largest intermolecular spaces because the force of cohesion between the molecules of gas is very weak.
•Shape, size, volume.
-Solids have a fixed shape, size and volume.Liquid has no fixed shape but fixed volume. Gases have no fixed shape, size, and volume. This all depends on the intermolecular forces of attraction.
• Compressibility
-Solids can't be compressed easily because they have less intermolecular spaces between them [ Now you may think that we can compress sponge easily, this is because sponge have air spaces between them and when we compress it, air spaces come out and the sponge gets compressed and when we release it, it again regain its original shape because air gets inside again]. Liquids can be compressed easily comparatively to Solids, as they have more intermolecular spaces. and gases are the most compressible because they have large intermolecular spaces.
• Flow
-Solids can't flow because of strong forces of attraction, liquids can flow in the bulk because of weaker forces of attraction, and gases can also flow anywhere because weaker force of attraction.
That's all.
Hope it helps..!!

hi friends
5 points on liquid.
→ a substance that flow freely but it is constant volume.
→ the liquid is also called fluid.
→ it is clear, pure and flowing.
→ it can flow easily.
→ for example: oil, water, milk, and every thing which can flow.
5 points on solid.
→ a substance that is solid rather than liquid.
→ it has a stable in shape.
→ it is hard, not transparent.
→ it can't flow.
→ for example: stone, wood, brick, furniture, and every that thing which can't flow.
5 points on gaseous
→ an air like substance which expands freely to fill any available space.
→ it is invisible, light weighted, colour less gas.
→ a flammable gas used as a fuel.
→ gas is one of four fundamental states of matter.
→ for example: LPG, oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and every substance which is invisible.
thank you
