Difference between literary and archaeological sources of history

Literary sources are the documents like official records , accounts of travellers  etc. They are of great importance in the modern and medieval history. They give a detailed information about an event.
Archaeological sources are the sources taken out by the archaeologists. They are only important in the Ancient history. It may or may not give  detailed information.
