lok sabha is for people also knwn house of people

rajya sabha is for states also knwn council of states

Lok Sabha:-

1.Lok Sabha is also known as House of People or Lower house.

2.Members of Lok Sabha are directly elected by the people and it exercises the real power on behalf of tge people.

3.It has a maximum of 552 members.At present, there are 545 members out of which 2 are nominated by the president from the Anglo-Indian community.

4.The term for Lok Sabha is five years.

5.In money matters,Lok Sabha exercises more power.

Rajya Sabha:-

1.Rajya Sabha is also known as Council of states or upper House.

2.Members of Rajya Sabha are elected by the Legislative Assembly of each state through proportional representation.

3.It has a maximum of 250 members,out of which 12 are nominated by the president, who have earned a distinction in the fields of literature,art,science and social service.

4.Rajya Sabha is a permanent body.However,one-third of its members retire every two years.

5.Rajya Sabha has the right to only suggest changes or delay the bill for 14 days.It is up to Lok Sabha to accept or reject the changes.
