  • Transverse Waves Can travel in solids, but not in liquids and gas.

Longitudinal Waves:

  • Displacement of the medium is parallel to the direction of propagation of the waves
  • Longitudinal Waves Can travel through all states of matter.

  • eg. Sound waves
