Difference between luminous and non luminous zone of flame

Luminous zone produces more amount of unburnt carbon.

It is the innermost part of the flame which is not much hotter. Colour of this part is yellowish red.

Whereas, Non-luminous zone doesnot produces any unburnt carbon. It is the outermost part of the flame which is the hottest part. Colour of this part is blue.
