generally , magnification of lens and mirror are same ., but their magnification formula is different ..

For lens :- The linear magnification produce by a lens is equal to the ratio of image distance to the object distance . THAT IS :___

M = IMAGE DISTANCE

OBJECT DISTANCE


BUT , FOR MIRROR ...
The linear magnification produce by a mirror is equal to the ratio of the image distance to the object distance , with minus sign I .e ,,,

M = - IMAGE DISTANCE
-----------------------------
OBJECT DISTANCE

Generally , this is D /F between lens and mirror magnification formula ..

# the image distance and magnification of lens is taken as positive ...
