mass is the amount of matter present in a substance while weight is the force exerted by it on gravity. well I can tell u in simple terms that if M is mass of an object then its weight is M×g where g is acceleration due to gravity .that is if mass of object is 5kg its weight is 5×9.8N. here I used the unit newton bcoz weight is ultimately a force
