difference between melting and vapouration
Answers
Answer:
melting- when a substance changes it's form back from solid to liquid e.g. ice in water
and
vaporization means a substance changes from liquid to gas e.g. from water gas on heating( both processes are done by heating)
Answer:
We know that there are four states of matter. Solid, liquid, gas and plasma. But in here we will not discuss about plasma.
So, the combination of atoms in the rest of three states of matter are not same. In solid, the atoms combine themselves into strong intermolecular force. But in liquid and gas the forces among the atoms are weak ( obviously the force among atoms of liquid molecules are greater than that of gas molecules).
So, when liquid is boiled then its molecules spread away and turns into gas. That’s called Evaporation.
But when solid is heated (like ice, iron or such matels etc.) the combination of atoms change and it slowly turns into liquid ( for some material it is not exactly liquid. It is some kind of combination of solid and liquid like jelly). That’s called Melting.
Simply, transformation of liquid to gas is called Evaporation and transformation of solid to liquid is called Melting.
