ANSWER:-

Difference between Metal & Non-metal;

Metals:

  • Pure metal has lustre on surface, this property of metal is known as metallic lustre.
  • Metals are generally hard, except sodium and potassium which are soft metals.
  • Metals are malleable, i.e., metals can be changed into sheets without getting broken by hammering.
  • Metals passess ductile property, i.e., fine wires can be drawn from them.Gold is the most ductile metal, 3.2 km length of wire can be drawn by 1 g of gold.

Non- Metals:

  • Most of the non-metals are gases at room temperature. Bromine is a non- metals which is liquid at room temperature.
  • Non- Metals are brittle. These don't show malleable and ductile property.e.g. Sulphur and phosphorus get broken on hammering.
  • Non- metals don't show lustre.
  • Except graphite, all non- metals are bad conductor of electricity and heat.

Hope it helps ☺️
