Answer:

Hey Mate✋✋✋........ Here I have tried to give you the most plausible answer.......

differences between metal and nonmetal are as follows.

based on their physical properties

metals are hard while non metals are soft but there are some exceptions to it some metals like Sodium and potassium are very soft that they can be cut with a knife.

metals are generally in solid state and nonmetals can exist in all the three states that are solid liquid and gas but that's action is mercury is a metal which is liquid in the room temperature.

generally metal have very high density and non metal have low density that is metals are heavier than non metal also metals are lustrous which means that they are shining why non metals are not lustrous but there is an exception to it and that is iodine is a non metal which is lustrous.

non metal are not malleable and they are not ductile as well but metals are malleable and ductile.

metals have high tensile strength and are sonorous while non metals have low tensile strength and they are not sonorous.

metals are good conductor of heat and electricity while nonmetals are neither conductor of electricity non conductor of heat but there are some exceptions to it as well.

on the basis of their chemical properties

metals are electropositive in nature why non metals are electronegative in nature which means that metals can lose electrons in order to form positive ions while non metals accept electrons to form negative ions.

for example sodium is a metal which has 11 electrons and one electron in its outermost shell so in order to become stable sodium metal loses one electron and hence it becomes positive while chlorine is a non metal which has 7 electrons in its outermost cell so in order to to become stable chlorine except one electron and make it electrons or Oct 8 in its outermost shell.

I hope that it was helpful to you.............I tried my best.
