Some of the differences between physical properties of metals and non-metals :

<> Lustrous : Metals have lustrous property where as nonmetals don't have this property .

<> Sonorous : Metals produce sounds but not non metals.

<> Electricity : Metals conduct electricity in them whereas non metals cannot.

Metals  and Non-metals

Metals  1. Metals are malleable and ductile.

Non-metals 1. Non-metals are neither malleable nor ductile.

Metals  2. Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity.

Non-metals  2. Non-metals are poor conductors of heat and electricity.(except graphite which is a good conductors of electricity).

Metals  3. Metals are lustrous.

Non-metals  3. Non-metals are non-lustrous.

Metals  4. Metals are strong .They have high tensile strength.(except sodium and potassium which are not strong and have low tensile strength).

Non-metals 4. Non-metals are not strong. They have low tensile strength.
