Difference between metameric and non metameric segmentation:
Metameric:
- The duplication of organs and tissues at particular periods along the body of an animal, which divides the body into a linear sequence of segments.
- It is mostly found in Annelida.
- It is a type of body which exhibit by the member of annelida which means that the body contains the repeating segment which makes the whole. This segment is known as metamerism.
Non-metameric segmentation:
- In some metameric the segmentation is appear externally but in outside segmentation is lost and the inside segmentation is best seen in the embryo.
- It is mostly found inn tapeworm.
- While in Non-Metameric Segmentation, the segmentation is confined only to ectodermal derived tissue such as in the Cestoda tapeworms and others.
