Metaphase-

Meiosis 1- After the chromosomes complete the stage of prophase they enter metaphase 1. The nuclear envelope dissolves and the chromosomes are scattered in the cytoplasm.

The BIVALENT chromosomes align themselves on the equatorial plate. The centromeres of the two chromosomes align themselves in TWO equatorial planes.

The distribution of bivalent chromosomes are random. The two chromosomes face different poles.

Meioisis 2- Like mitosis the chromosome are single or UNIVALENTS. There is a single metaphasic plate. ( unlike metaphase 1)

\huge{Meiosis\:1\::}

* In this Homologous chromosomes are present starting.

* It is a Heterotypic division.

* Phases involved in it are :-

Prophase 1, Metaphase 1, Anaphase 1 and Telophase 1.

* In this individual chromosomes are present in daughter nuclei.

* In this crossing over occurs.

\huge{Meiosis\:2\::}

* Individual chromosomes are present at staring.

* It is a Homotypic division.

* Phases involved in it are :-

Prophase 2, Metaphase 2, Anaphase 2 and Telophase 2.

* Sister chromosomes are present in daughter nuclei.

* No crossing over occurs in it.
