Methi is a green leafy vegetable which is also known as Fenugreek leaves.
Methi is used as a vegetable itself in food .
It is rich in nutrients, which is added to dal or any other vegetables.

Whereas Kasuri methi is dried form of methi leaves which is added to various food dishes to enhance flavour and taste.
Usually it is crushed into small pieces and added to food.

Methi, also known as fenugreek is a spice used in food and as a medicine since ancient times. It is an erect, strong-scented, annual herb which grown upto 30 – 60 cms. It has compound leaves and yellow auxillary flowers with pointed pods. The seeds and leaves are used in cooking and as medicine for curing anemia, dizziness, dullness, indigestion, flatulence, ulcers etc.


Kasuri methi is the dried leaves of the fenugreek plant. It is known to be a good herb. It has a bitter but addictive taste. Its strong aroma and distinctive flavor makes it an important spice in Indian cooking for making curries etc. It is made by drying the leaves of the fenugreek plant in the sun till the moisture is gone and is then crumbled and added while cooking. It is known to be a good appetizer, to reduce colic and constipation if consumed regularly.
