Moderate climate:

It means that there is not much variation in weather conditions and temperature.

Extreme climate:

It means that there is wide variation between weather condition and temperature.

Differences :

1) Moderate climate is neither too hot in summers nor too cold in winter. Extreme climate, summers are too hot and winters are too cold.

2) Moderate climate is found in coastal area whereas extreme climate is found in inland areas .
