Moderates are those leaders who chose to struggle against the British in a non-violent manner. They weren't totally against the British. They wanted to get more recognition in the government. Some moderate leaders are Dadabhai Naoroji, Pherozeshah Mehta, WC Bannerji and Badruddin Tyabji etc.

Radicals are those leaders who thought that the people of India must fight for swaraj (total freedom) and shouldn't rely on the 'good' intentions of the government. They protested violently. They entrusted the policy of non-cooperation. The famous Radical trio of India was Lal Bal Pal (Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Bipin Chandra Pal)
