Difference between modernity and modernisation

Modernity is an artistic term used in the field of social sciences and humanities that indicate the modern era of a historical period and its socio-cultural norms, practices, intellectual movements, and attitudes, which arose in the post-medieval era in Europe, and sometimes, also around the world.

 

Modernization was a shift from modernity into an era of industrial capitalism. It was associated with the growth of modern technologies like newspaper, telegraph, and many other forms of mass communications and media. It also led to start of economics, oppressive politics, and social forces like mass media.

Traditional modernity started in the European nations in 1453, up to 1789, and extended into modernization from 1970s onwards.
