1. Atom is the smallest particle of an element which cannot be further divided and that retains all the characteristic properties of that element.
2. Atoms normally, do not exist independently.
3. Relative atomic mass is the average mass of the atoms of an element as compared to 1/12th the mass of one Carbon-12 atom.
4. The atomic mass of an element when expressed in grams is called gram atomic mass of that element.
5. Atoms consist Protons,Electrons and Neutrons in them.
1. A molecule is a chemical combination of two or more atoms. A molecule can be broken down into individual atoms.
2. Molecules exist independently.
3. Relative molecular mass or simply molecular mass of a substance is the mass of one molecule of that substance relative to 1/12th mass of an atom of carbon-12.
4. Molecular mass of a substance expressed in grams is called its gram molecular mass.
5. Molecules consist two or more than two atoms which combine together by strong forces of attraction to form a molecule.
